Not shabby at all. I shook hands with most of these makers in Chicago. Despite what the voodoo witch doctor told me, not one bit of their talent rubbed off on me. Greedy jerks.

How did you sneak out with all seven to take pics? Nice looking bunch.

Chuck used to hire a photog on behalf of P&T to cover the contest, and I started doing the job last year to help them out financially. Meaning I had acceso especial

Any chance we could get the names in order? I think I know who did which for most of them but not all. When I saw that Yeti had feathered his blast at the end of the shank, I knew you'd be happy, George

I don't know which is which, believe it or not. I just came away with my camera and Q left with the entry list. (all I remember is the last seven pipes shot were the winners)

From top to bottom:

Jesse Jones (hey that's me! )
Jeremiah Sandahl
Brandon Brooks
Micah Cryder (Yeti)
Scottie Piersel
Walt Hettinger
Abe Herbaugh

Pretty sure that's right....Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I went back to double check with my sources (Instagram ) and I believe your list is correct, so thank you - and congratulations, obviously.
On that note, it might be high time for me to cull the flock some on there. For something I got on as a means to basically have a feed of inspirational pipe porn, I sure have loaded it up with not that.

I had the pleasure of seeing these in person. All of them were absolutely gorgeous. Congrats to all of the winners.

Congratulation to you, Jesse. This makes my PITH Author even more special.
Congratulations to everyone!

Also an interesting factoid, the top three all have curved buttons. All of the pipes were pretty sweet, and there were even several entries on the table that looked pretty amazing.

I thought this was interesting as well - I know I've seen you saying you'd adopted them at some point and preferred them. I've never owned/smoked a pipe with one, but I'm finally going to give it a shot on the one I'm working on now to see how I like it.
And congratulations to you as well, obviously!

It is fascinating to compare the shaping, curvature and finish of these pipes.
The proportions, ratios, and treatment of the bowl shape is different on each pipe but they are all Princes.
I did a fair amount of reading and comparing to get some idea of where to go with these factors and still came up with yet another treatment of the shape.
Interesting.
