As per usual, I never start anything until the last moment. Here's my contribution, fresh off the lathe.

Stem next, then shaping.

And I am managing to take video of the process - just so everyone can see me continue to do everything "the wrong way" :D

PITH 2020 in progress
So I finally got off my duff and realized that 31 July is approaching fast. Nothing like a deadline to spur me to action. Unfortunately, this will be my only attempt this year unless I completely blow it.
Sorry, recipient, no accent lines. They are hard to do when you freehand a shape and I don’t have enough time to experiment. It does have superior grain, however.

I'm still in, I have a couple completed and should be finishing up on the last one tonight or tomorrow unless I goof up on it. Then I'll post the one I think turned out best.

Well, it looks like I'm out this year. I've had shop flooding and other problems added to my usual comedy of pipemaking errors. My latest attempt has just turned out to have a bunch of sand pits. As I say for so many things in 2020; there's always next year.

Well I’m finished. I feel way better about my entry this year versus last. Having the extra time to get a small lathe and trying to learn how to use it , has helped me a great deal.
