Gallery?

Post by bluesmk »

Hi all,
I notice for the gallery menu, it dosen't say "comming soon" anymore.
Anyone able to access their photo albums? There's no icon to get anything but Kurts photos. My old eyes need some help, am I missing something?

Seems Kurt is doing some of his announced "whipping" to the forum. Maybe he is still working with his torture instruments…

I think we have to start over and create new albums. From what I understood, all the old ones were lost during the transfer to Kurt.

I could be wrong though.

Hi guys,

See this posting to the announcement area:
http://www.pipemakersforum.com/modules. ... pic&t=1227

This is a different gallery module for PHP-Nuke - the underlying content management system that runs this website. The module in use at Tyler's site was called coppermine, and is only compatible with older version of PHP-Nuke, which I cannot run due to security concerns, and PHP-Nuke is bad enough as it is.

Long story short, I had to make the best of the situation and get a gallery live for you guys. I still have all the images from Tyler, so nothing is lost, but you will have to create a gallery and add your images back in. If you lost your copies of the images, let me know what album they were in and I'll extract them from the tarball and send them to you so that you can re-create your album.

Also, *please* do not forget to name your gallery and set the permissions on it. The default is to create a gallery called "Untitled" with open permissions - there is no setting in the config to change that, you have to set it yourself when you create a gallery for yourself.

Let me know if you need any help.

If you're signed on, click the "Gallery" link in the Menu block on the left. This link will tkae you there:
http://www.pipemakersforum.com/modules.php?name=gallery

Then click the Pipe Images album:

Then select "new nested album" from the "album actions" dropdown list. It will create a new album and take you there.

Then select "properties" from the "album actions" dropdown list and set the title to something besides "untitled".

Then select "permissions" from the "album actions" dropdown list and set stuff up the way you want it.

Dan, It look slike you renamed the album, but didn't set the title - grab "properties" from the dropdown and set it there.

That bit is somewhat confusing even to me. I have no idea why "title" and "name" are different settings....
