Hello again from Northern California

Post by Spillproof »

Real name: David Keean
Age: 49
Location: Wildwood, CA
Years a pipe smoker: 30+
How you got into pipe making: Restoration work and poor man pipe collecting.
Other interesting facts: I have never been charged with a felony, which I gotta say is pretty impressive.

After a long hiatus, the acquisition of much bigger and better tools, and renting an actual Shop Space "in town" (Hayfork), I will finally be making pipes again in short order. I live off the grid so getting all my ducks in a row has been... Challenging. Many of the contributors here know me and can vouch that though I am a relative newb to pipe making I am well versed in pipe collecting, proper pipe aesthetics, and pipe history. I have done several hundred full restorations (re-finishing), including some very high end pipes, and though I'm a joker I definitely take this stuff seriously. I have only made a couple dozen from scratch (not including kits or the use of preformed stems) and still have a LOT to learn.

Here's what I won't ever do: Ask for a critique and then debate you about it. I'm here to learn, re-learn, and un-learn.
Thank you for being here for folks like me.

Cheers!

Welcome to the Forum, David.
I know that you have what it takes to be a good student from the PSD forum.
