Years a pipe smoker: 30ish, but that's a bit misleading. I first tried pipes over thirty years ago, only got serious about pipe smoking and gave up cigars in the last five years. I am not a big smoker, five bowls in a month is alot for me.

How you got into pipe making: I am just starting, 2 pipe making kits currently in transit. I have done some other woodworking as well as creating metal charms for myself and as gifts. My favorite pipe is a Erik Nording Freehand, I'd like to see if I can make some similar pipes...I have ideas, but am not sure if they are realistic or not, I intend to find out. I enjoy fidgeting and feeling my pipe as I smoke, the Nording is even more fun to hold than my rusticated Peterson. While I can appreciate the craftsmanship and skill necessary to replicate standard pipe shapes, I am not interested in learning to make those.

Other interesting facts: I am trying to convince the local Fairy population to assist me in winning the lottery.
