How you got into pipe making: I've always been hobby oriented (woodworking, leatherworking, cars, fishing, knives etc) but for several years have been looking for something interesting and compact, as hobbies go. When my brother showed me his estate pipes, I was fascinated. When I smoked one, I was hooked. As far as I can tell, piping is a perfect hobby, combining elements of collecting, crafting, and smoking.
For now, I'm focused on refurbishing.
Looking toward the near future, I'm designing a new pipe and knife making workshop. It will be small, air conditioned, metallic epoxy floor, good lighting, beer fridge, and if there's room, some workbenches and tools.
Other interesting facts: I'm originally from Wichita Falls, Texas. Great wife. Great kids and grandkids. I'm a happy, lucky, blessed man. And I'm glad to be here.
