Stem inlays

I have seen makers put inlays in the stem as there mark some with a monogram some just with special look to associate it as one of their pipes. Does anyone know what these inlays are called? And where one could get these?

They are not readily available. You must replicate them using "casual" materials. Colored dots from plastic rod or wood, silver rings from aluminum tube, etc.
