Taper Bit Question

Post by hazmat »

Does a fella want "general purpose" or "fast spiral" when it comes to taper bits for drilling of stems?? I need to get a new one and my old one was given to me, so I have no clue.. any help? Thanks in advance!

Is your old bit an FSD bit? I just use a general purpose for drilling my stems.

I have no clue, to be honest with you. A friend of mine who used to work with Dick Johnson years back gave it to me in a small box of assorted pipe-making bits, pieces, parts, miscellany, etc that he had stashed away some place when he decided selling cigars was much easier than making pipes. I forgot I had it until recently, but it's a bit out of true and I don't want to waste any more stem stock than I already have..
