Well I got my tiny ssehorse done

Still need to buff it up though. Not having a buffer at home I use the one at my fave smoke shope - Port Royal in downtown Columbus if you ever are in the neighborhood. They focus mainly on cigars, but have a few nice pipes too. More importanly though, Jay and Andy are good guys. Hmmm I digress. Well I'm buffing it up at lunch and pics tonight.

As a side note, shellac seems to take a lot longer to dry when its humid out. Big surprise there! I'm such a goof. Well the downside of that is that some ash got stuck on the shellac, so I've some serious buffing ahead of me. And if that doesn't work, its back to sand paper.

On another side note, I am way psyched! I won an Anne Julie pipe on ebay for $250.00! I so couldn't believe it! Now I just gotta find the cash. LOL

Most auto-body shops have a "paint booth". My pipe-making workshop has a "drying booth". :)

After applying the finish to pipes/pens/whatever else, they go inside a tent to cool/dry away from the dust in the rest of the shop.

Sounds like a great idea. Unfortunatly it wasn't even that. About an hour after I put the finish on the pipe, I gave it a smoke. The finish felt dry. It wasn't tacky in the least. But..... No worries. A lil buffing or at worst a lil sand paper and all will be well.

I know, I know. Sorry for the delay. I finally took the pics last night. They came out aweful. I might try some more tonight or just post the best one or two I have. Anyway, I should have them uploaded tonight.
