Post by jbacon »

first would like to thank rad for sharing all the info on the tools.
and also to john crosby for pointing out that mcmaster-carr sells pin gauges one at a time.

does anyone know a good source to get replacement belts for the jet bd-920 metal lathe.

i am not the smartest person in the world- just figured out how to change speeds on the thing. could not read the chinese instructions

hi rad

thanks, also found them at www.campbelltools.com

part#VB-5M710 for 18.00 plus shipping. I think somewhere in here -todd johnson said he had one break on him and had a hard time finding them and it put him down for 2 weeks.

Make sure you measure your old belt. Unfortunitely these are not all the same, even within the same brand. I've got the harbor frieght version of this lathe and mine falls right in between the two sizes, and will work with either, but the larger of the two makes for easier speed changes.

Here are some links:

I ordered some from these guys (best price):
http://www.ebatmus.com/

5M730 POLYFLEX BELTS 1 $7.34 RFQ
5M710 POLYFLEX BELTS 2 $7.14 RFQ

And also bought two of these on eBay ($13 ea. but cheaper and faster shipping?):

Hi Gents,

Gates is your best source for actual replacement belts. I don't have a part number in front of me, but I believe the site is www.gates.com. Check and see.
