work of late

Post by magruder »

Hi Folks,

I haven't been around for awhile. I launched my pipe brand:
Steve Morrisette Pipes this weekend at the CORPS show.
Things went pretty well, though attendance was way down this year.
I sold a couple of pipes and there was a lot of very positive feedback.
Anyway, I wanted to post some images of recent stuff. I hope I remember how
Comments are welcomed and encouraged.
Best to all,
Steve Morrisette

Hi Steve,

Those are links to the page that photobucket makes for the image - not the actual image. If you use the URL in the "IMG Code" text box on teh right and just paste it here, it should work. Like this:

Code: Select all

And here's the result:

Beautiful work!

I really appreciate seeing all the work posted here... and really appreciate ANY feedback on mine (and others). Maybe in a couple hundred years I'll be making pipes like these!

Steve,

Does the bit on the bottom one fit flush against the end of the shank, or is it recessed?

Steve:

I just posted something on your thread in the P&T forum. Anyway, I was at the Richmond show. I came by and met you, and looked at your work. I can say these pictures don't do justice compared to the real thing. Your pipes are beautiful! Your skill level is very high. I very much liked the scale of your pipes. I'm not a fan of big pipes, your's were just the right size. The stain colors were great. All of your designs were wonderful. I think you are on your way! My only regret is I didn't have the funds to buy a pipe from all the carvers I would have liked to. Rad's pipes were awesome as usual. There were some nice pipes at that show. I wish I could have gotten one of yours, but hey, your going to make more!

Thanks for the kind words folks.
And yes Bill, I will make more - actually some of these are still for sale.

LatakiaLover - the bit on that pipe fits into a countersink in the olivewood shank extension.

Best to all,
Steve

I saw them in person in Richmond and believe me the pictures, as good as they are, do not do Steve's pipes justice.

Steve, those are awesome. I like the first one, the angularity and the partial blast, with that staining effect. Very unique looking, but I bet it still feels good in the hand, with the slightly rounded front.
The last one is my favorite out the group - the shape, the extension, and the staining is really striking. Just too cool, man.
