Thanks, Nick. The customer is totally excited. I hope to make more, but, maybe a little smaller. This one has a 1" bore, 2-1/2 ounces. A real monster.

The picture was fixed up using Picasa, from Google. Great free software IMO.

Ohhhh yeeaa! That's my kinda pipe! Although the rustication is much finer, the pipe has a kind of Castello feel to me. Keep up the great work.

I actually miss-drilled the first attempt, which should've gone into my personal torture chamber, but, went instead to the customer's friend. For half price of course. Both are such huge pipes, not my style at all since I'm a clencher.

BTW, how many of y'all smoke while you create pipes? I do as much as possible. Keeps me "centered"...

Depends on where I'm working. I haven't gotten around to hooking up the exhause fan in my workshop, so smoking is out for the moment. I really prefer to work outside though. I file or a bit of sandpaper, pipe (to smoke) and briar and I am good to go!

I do. I have a few lighter weight pipes that I use when working/playing w/pipe making.

That's a great rusticatiion job. Very consistent across the entire surface.

I used the rustication tool Tyler recommends. I can make the rustication just about any level I want, now that I've used it for about a year. Great tool!

As far as smoking while working, it makes the whole experience more pleasant...
