small files

Post by pennsyscot »

Where do you get those really small round files used to shape the airway.
I've checked some hobby stores and found nothing close to small enough.
Also, looking for a place to purchase leather dye. thanks, Scot

Depends on where your located. This place looks to have a nice selection if you want to order on-line:

I've been buying leather dye at Tandy leather stores:

I mostly use the Fiebings alcohol based dye, but some have reported success with the water based dyes as well, and some are using a combination of the two in seperate applications.

Lowes and Home Depot both carry Nicholson hobby files which are what I use.

And, like Scott, I get my leather from Tandy. I buy online though, since there's no Tandy store conveniently close.

I buy aniline dyes from Jamestowne Distributors online. I also buy my files from widgetsupply.com. You can purchase one type of file instead of a whole set and only use three files. You can also buy different coarseness' (?).
