Need help with a Fill

Superglue fills will always be black. There is a difference in sealing tiny sandspots, and filling pits or fissures. For pits and fissures, you might want to try something like synthetic wood putty if your goal is to stain it and have it look similar to the grain of the pipe. It will always be visible--even glaring--but it will take stain. With superglue, the goal isn't so much to hide the sand spot as to seal it, creating a smooth uninterrupted exterior finish. Some makers use very dark stain to hide multiple such sandspots, but "fills," as a general rule aren't accepted by most of the pipe buying community. For your own purposes, though, fill it up and smoke away.

Thanks Todd. I'll play with some wood puddy. I'm just filling shop pipes now. Never would sell one.
