Forstner bit sharpening

Post by KurtHuhn »

I stumbled upon this link last night:
http://www.leevalley.com/shopping/Instr ... px?p=44383

There's a section at the bottom that deals with the proper sharpening and maintenance of Forstner bits. Figured it might prove useful to some folks since Forstners are in pretty widespread use here for facing various thins.

Excellent article. The advice, polishing and waxing the chipper face, never occurred to me. I must remember to do that.

Frank.

Speaking of Forstner bits: http://www.mlcswoodworking.com/shopsite ... orsbit.htm

I don't know the quality, but shipping is free, always a plus. I've bought a few Round Nose and Core Box bits from them - no complaints.

Frank.

For half the price, it's worth a try.
