My name is Simeon; I picked up pipe making a few years ago when I was teaching high school English and had access to the school wood shop. Now I don't teach anymore, but I have slowly built up the makings of a modest wood shop of my own (nothing close to the kind of tool access I had at the school's shop...more's the pity).
I found this forum the other day and couldn't be more excited to have a community to share my thoughts with and learn from. Just in browsing for a couple of days I have picked up a lot of great ideas (I just made a rustication tool yesterday following the advice of other threads, and the results are encouraging already).
Anyway, just wanted to say hello, and I look forward to being a part of the pipe making community here! Thanks in advance for all of the great advice I am sure to get in the months and years ahead!
