Catpipe

Post by Josephine »

This is my first pipe^^

I wanted to make something special, and I have never really seen a pipe shaped like a cat before.

It's far from perfect, but I learned a lot. I think it will be easier to make the next pipe.

I used about 11 hours over three days. My boyfriend also made a pipe, so he helped me saw off some parts and things like that.

Please, tell me what you think :D

I will take a better photo soon, the flash made the paint look bad... It really looks better irl.

Well that certainly is unique! I like that the cat is yawning and that you utilized the yawn as the chamber of the pipe, the teeth are a nice touch. Now as your pipe making skill improves it will be interesting at least to me to see what you can do with your imagination.

Me either. . . and it's the best damned pink striped painted Catpipe I've ever seen.

Aah, so it's neutered. Good thinking.

Very imaginative and whimsical. It has a bit of an Anne Julie flair about it. Do you, by chance, know a collector named Miss Rita Lee Shotts? I think she would rather like this piece.

As you said, not perfect. I think the correct term for that is purrfect. I think Catwoman might be interrested  . Nice first pipe. Keep them coming. It would be interresting to see what you come up with when you get more experienced.

Thanks :D I'm glad you guys liked it^^

No, I haven't heard of Anne Julie or Rita Lee Shotts, but I'm fairly new to this. I don't even smoke, I just like making things, really.
Got any links to them I should check out? :3

The more I look at it, the better it gets. Did you use leatherdye for the stain?

I have heard of her. Miss Rita Lee Shotts contacted me about making a HUGE apple for her. She seemed very interested and then SQUAT!

I wasn't sure what we used, but my boyfriend said: "aniline/alcohol soluble, cherry and brown mahogney"

A huge apple? :P
And you didn't hear from her again?

I'm thinking of making an owl sitting on a branch for my next pipe :D

Rad's not being serious, he's just ribbing Kurt.

I'm not sure. I wouldn't know how much to sell it for either, or if anyone would actually buy it.

What do you guys think? Could you help me price it? :)

One wonders if it is, perhaps, too much "cat" and not enough "pipe" for a first sale. Merely one man's opinion though.

Perhaps you're right.
Well, if anyone's interested in a cat, rather than a pipe, let me know:D
I wasn't planning on selling it, but if anyone wants it...

And as a sidenote, I normally draw portraits, so if anyone is interested in buying portraitdrawings, you can look at my gallery here: http://www.josephine-death.deviantart.com
