Pistol

My rather crude single shot 22 - made with a $50 drill press, hacksaw and files. In effect, this was a 30 year project. Back in the '70's my Dad bought a set of Jaco plans and I started to make this pistol. I think I was about 13 and I lost interest after spending 5 or 6 hours working on it. Then, 30 years later I ran across the same plans while surfing the net one night and decided to have another go at it.

Holy Pistoles! That's really nice, Fred. Smoothbore or rifled? How does it shoot?

Have you got a link to the plans?

I bought a rifled liner from Brownells and epoxied it into an oversized hole in the barrel. It shoots like you'd expect a gun with a 4" barrel to shoot - lousey. But it barks nicely and shoots fire more than you'd expect from a 22.

I don't have a link, but I do have the plans in pdf. I'll email them to you.

Found the link to the JACO Derringer plans. Use at your own risk because, contrary to what your DARE officer tells you, a pipe won't kill you - but a pistol can.
