For sanding out really rough spots I like the 3M sanding sponges. http://www.shop3m.com/98070146992.html I also use the fine grit as an initial once-over. I like the sponge because the grit gives into the sponge and doesn't bite into the smooth areas, and it is super flexible to get into the tight spots. This is real handy for me because I am still using the stock, metal sanding disk on my sander and end up with some nasty tool marks. Kurt, expect an order from me as soon as I figure out my spindle size.
