Staining stem inserts

Post by TRS »

Just another newb question; when staining a wood insert on an ebonite stem, is there any concern about getting stain on the ebonite? I don't know whether the dye would leave any noticable traces on the ebonite or if it just buffs away....? I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt to apply it as carefully as possible, but as I'm a bit of a lummox........thanks again!
