I'm not a great pipemaker, but I am a pretty good blacksmith/bladesmith. Thus, a couple of weeks ago I made myself a nifty little damascus steel pipe tool. It got such a good response I decided to make a couple more for sale, so here they are:
The stats: 300 layer twist of 1095/nickel 200, with tamper, spoon, and spike tools, brass axle with green swirl lucite spacers, OAL 2 5/8 inches long x 1/2 inch wide x 5/16 inch at the thickest point. These little buggers were quite the excercise in forging to shape, let me tell you! Very deep etch, you can feel the topography.
Asking US $150 each including shipping CONUS, thanks for looking!

That sounds like a challenge.....I'm behind on orders in the shop right now, but rest assured it'll get done eventually. I've got enough scrap 1018/nickel damascus around to make a pile of tools...It'll likely be nails to start with since they should be pretty easy to forge. In the end using scraps for this will be cheaper than losing all the Czech tools I manage to make vanish.Alan L wrote:Thanks, Deker.
