Wartfish in orange and purple will follow - for summer

Walle,

You are insane.

I'm sorry, but these pipes do not conform the the DHPM. We will have to keep our foot on your neck until you can get back on track and in the groove.

I can't wait to see the orange and purple ones. I hope for your sake that they are up to DHPM standards.

Me like!

Good luck with the purple. i made a purple pipe for a friend of mine (he likes purple, don't ask me) but the color didn't stay purple long, it turned more brownish.

Bullshit, Rad. Get off my case.
DHPM is an abbreviation I used for a lengthy expression of a very real thing in this world. A very real thing that you know, and I quote from your website,
"I began in 2003, by making and selling freehand pipes in the 70s Danish style with molded vulcanite stems. As I progressed, I began experimenting with hand cutting stems from rod stock and shapes that were more traditional while still maintaining a Danish influence."
Rad Davis

Excellent pipes, Walle. No, great pipes. Colors are great, form, texture, creativity, everything. I love 'em.

Mike,

Walle is insane.

What point are you trying to make with your quote from my website?

There's no denying that there's a Danish influence in pipe making, just as there are Japanese, English, Italian, German, Russian, etc. influences.

I happen to suffer under a mostly Danish influence. That's my choice or what I like or whatever. Todd suffers under a number of different influences, Danish and Japanese, mostly. Bruce Weaver suffers under Todd.

Your assertion that
Many of the pipemakers and collectors, and probably all of the dealers, here, are staunch DHPM, I think, and wish to keep everything on track and in the groove.
and your implication that a maker whose work goes outside that mold will not be accepted is simply not true.

Look at the work of Walt Cannoy, who did some wild and totally off the wall pipes and was so successful that people forgave him over and over for being a bit of a "not totally honest" guy.

And look at Walle's work. He is insane.

Besides, lighten up. I was just giving you shit.

Mike - Uh. . .Rad was addressing his friend Walle. He didn't say anything to or about you. This is the third time in the last few days that you've felt slighted by conversations that had nothing to do with you. Next time you think someone is taking a poke at you, I suggest that you re-read the post three times, then log off for a few hours, then come back and read it a few more times to be sure.

in other news...
I don't know Walle, personally, so I can't comment about his sanity, but he has a definite style of making pipes, which I like, a bit light, posibly a humor element, but just really good. That's a rare, talent thing, I believe.

Probably some good advice, but actually Rad's use of the term DHPM was related to me, and if you feel like wasting your time, you can read the "Another Apple and Blown Glass " topic in the "Gallery," and see what I mean, but my advice to you, though, is to just skip it. It's cool. No Problem.

I want to say thank you to those of you who are concerned about my mental health. Well, I believe I´m not insane. It´s Mr. Dremel who does that with me, I´m afraid. As a matter of fact: Help! My Dremel is killing me!

Cheerio!
Walle

P.S.: @Mr. Davis and Mr. Huhn: Be prepared to get mail from my lawyers.
P.P.S.: In German forums I´m keeping to call our domestic pipe makers a pack of miserable competitors. I won all the cases so far. By reason of insanity.
P.P.P.S.: What the fuck does DHPM mean?

Moin Walle,

I think DHPM stands for Department of Health Policy and Management, at least that's what google says..... about the pipes I wrote you. You call it Irish-green but to my opinion it's not racing green.....
Again you are walking on the border of insanety and a genius..... Respekt!

Aha! Thanks, Kurt!

Nevertheless: GeeJay´s suggestion "Departement of Health Policy and Management" did concern me a lttle - considering my not very biological finishing methods

Rad would be the first to denounce me, I presume ...

Walle,

I would never denounce a selectively perceptive mental explorer.
