Hello to everyone! I have been reading the forums here for a few days and had to join up. My name is Arthur, (Art for short ). I am a woodworker/blacksmith/ bladesmith. I REALLY! need another hobby! LOL! I have been a pipe smoker since around 1970 and have tinkered together a few real sad looking pipes over the years. I figured it was time to take the time to learn to do it the right way! After repairing a whole bunch of estate pipes and actually getting some real nice ones from fleabay I have built up a large collection of decent factory pipes. Feel free to ask anything ya want. If I don't want to answer I will just turn off my hearing aids!
Thanks for letting me join up!

Welcome, Art. Sounds like you will be a real asset to those on here who also make knives, swords and assorted metal items. That's not me .. yet. I have enough hobbies and still have to make a living.
Regards,
Tim

Thanks for the welcome. I do a few knives as the market allows . My favorite material right now for blades is pattern weld. Fun to make and a treat to see whatcha got once it is etched.

I'm a kind-of new guy, too, but Welcome. Just disregard my posts when you see them in a topic. Some of the guys, here, think I'm nutty, and I over-complicate or over-engineer everything, so my methods sometimes are not the most desireable, some would say. I think, I over-engineer to compensate for my lack of experience, to improve my results, but it does have its limits, esp, it can not compare to the more relaxed, free form, but still refined artist's kind-of touch.
