sanding pads for multiple uses

whats standard procedure for using sanding pads on briar and ebonite/stem material? do you swap pads between or no?

yes you swap pads from lower to higher grits, but no, I do not swap pads for different materials - briar and ebonite share pads. I use a sanding "eraser" to clean up a loaded pad.

What kind of eraser do you use? Where did you get it? I've been curious about this for some time...
