Really nice, as usual. We mentioned machine tools before, and I have had this thought many times... I spend more of my money and my time working on tools than I spend on pipes. I looked at the wikipedia pictures of a 2000 year old olive tree near Bar. Amazing.

I Appreciate your thought Mike .
I can tell you that searching for this kind of olive wood in the outback is a heck of a time& strength consuming business. So when i start a pipe i am giving it my utmost attention because i have always on my mind the long and personally involved way that this piece of fine wood has to go .
It is a good thing ,it keeps you always focused on the work and learns one to cherish the effort that brought it to the moment when it is born into the shape of a pipe.

I love the shape and the grain. The blue in the stem is a nice contrast and it seems to flow with the rest of the pipe. You should start using briar instead of the olive wood.

Beatutiful pipes. That is the nicest Olivewood I've seen used for pipes. Very original design. I'm curious how the thicker bits on your pipes feel comfort-wise.
