wire wheel

Post by bregolad »

i recently bought some new toys, and among them, a wire wheel. This piece was a botched drill job turned guinea pig. the wire wheel is pretty course, and it made sandblast-looking rustication. i loved it

and heres the wire wheel itself, mounted on my laid down drill press.

You could call it nut-sack rustication.

Pfft. Do it whatever way you like. One thing is for certain, it leaves a very deep and craggy surface that's sure to please a lot of folks when they see it in person. Looks like bark, almost - or extremely weathered rock.

See Devil's Tower:

Or El Capitan:

Your rustication looks like a cross between the two, with the linear structure of the igneous plug of Devil's Tower, and the organic weathering of El Capitan.

Such a interesting approach to rustication but not my cup of tea ,thou the result looks very natural .
