Polyacetal ?

I was buying few things today in Downtown and in one store i found polyacetal rods... I searched through net and found out that Polyacetal is in fact one of the names for Delrin... is this correct??

i have another question ...

why we don't use Delrin for the whole stem, not just for the tenon??? Is it toxic or something...??

Delrin is great for tenons due to it's self lubricating properties. However, it's too soft for stems. It would get chewed through in no time. It also can't take a high shine, and frankly would look pretty bad.
