I Bid You Farewell

Post by baweaverpipes »

I'm taking a break from this board, due to having a recent posting of mine deleted, defending my good friends Rad Davis and Todd Johnson.
It was deemed vulgar. :banghead:
I would have posted again (less the questionable language), to keep the girls happy, but didn't have a copy. It was good.
Well, keep making balsa wood pipes (one piece, of course), continue inventing the most difficult way to make a pipe and, most of all, be contrary to those trying to help, you ingrates.

I wouldn't say I've hit on THE most difficult way to make a pipe, but I feel I'm close to a breakthrough in this regard.

I honestly haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time. As always, Sasquatch, nicely put.

Wow, that's terrible! What the heck's been going on here! I'm not on here much myself these days, but I'll really miss your participation, Bruce!

Hey Scott,

Lots of moral dictation, "editorials" about our respective "obligations" to spend time with each and every aspiring pipemaker on this board, and finally, deletion of harmless posts by a secret moderator who decided they were "not amusing" and deemed them "childish." Bruce then apparently acted like an ass and posted something stupid. I didn't read it before it was removed. Now Kurt has decided this is a gathering of mannered gentlemen who must, at all times, maintain the proper level of decorum lest they be reprimanded. I think Bruce and Rad decided that was "bullsiht"--which it is--and decided to take a break. I, however, consider pettiness, incompetence, and double-standards par for the course in human society. I will be sticking around either to combat or contribute to all three. Glad to see you drop by, Scott. Loved that three pipe set you completed recently.

Dude, seriously? I asked you to stop. And then this?

Gentlemen, yes. "obligations to spend time with each and every aspiring pemakerip", no.

As I already indicated, but perhaps wasn't specific enough for you, further thoughts on this should be directed to me via private email or forum PM. The next ones will get get deleted by me. Please consider public discussion of this subject closed.

Thanks for explaining, Todd. So Rad's gone too? Man, I'll miss them both!

OK, I was going to say in that case you should consider posting rules and expectations of some sort, but I see that you have just done it! May I be so bold as to suggest that newcomers to the forum should also be encouraged to do a little reading before diving in with questions. Searching for relevant threads before posting questions is also very helpful. In a community like this it's ideal to strike a balance between welcoming the uninitiated and respecting the knowledge and time of those that are already here.
