Too Much Pipe, Too Little Briar

Post by taharris »

I had a half piece of Briar left from making a previous pipe and I got a little too ambitious.
Half way through the pipe I discovered that I didn't have as much Briar as I originally thought.
:banghead:
So, since I am not a "quitter", I decided to soldier on and finish the pipe.
In my opinion the pipe narrows too quickly to the stem. That said, I don't think it turned out too bad.

I am pleased with the pipe nail that I turned out of Ebony.

I would like to hear your comments and suggestions.
Thanks for looking.

I like it alot. Under the circumstances and the close tolerances involved, I think its pretty spot on. I think it narrows down just fine, too.

The only thing i see to work on is the button. It looks a little thick and undefined.

Well done :)

Sweet pipe, gorgeous tamper! I really love the utter darkness of that wood, fantastic!

And you are right about the button.

Pipes are all about the details...

You did what you could. Is unfortunate that have been so many defects in the wood.
Regards.

Hiciste lo que pudiste. Es lamentable que hayan salido tantos defectos en la madera.
