Handwheel

Post by tigercasual »

Hey guys,

It seems that the tool gremlins have visited my workshop again. I am in the process of changing the drivebelt for my Delta LA 200 lathe... and here is the problem.

Took everything apart- no problems- changed the belt.

The belt is so tight that I decide to take everything apart again and take a look at the belt.

Removed set screws, followed all of the procedures and... now the handwheel, which came off fine upon the first removal, will not budge. I've sprayed WD40 on the thread, and sprayed it down into the set-screw holes, let it soak for a hour and it still it will not budge.

Is there something I'm missing?
Anyone else had this issue?

Cheers,
TC

If you heat up the wheel but not the part its attached to, it should expand and slide off.
