1st try at "shape-first"

Tried it over the weekend, and here are 2 pics:

Didn't work out like I would have liked it :banghead: , but will definitely try again. Love the freedom it allows you to work with the grain, and also around blemishes and flaws.

Looks like a perfect opportunity to practice drilling. That's the tricky bit.

That's a good looking pipe....DOH! You're supposed to drill from the other end of the shank. :lol:
