I really like the lemon wood pipe for some reason. Was there bleaching involved?

no bleach... the light is a bit to much... in reality the wood is a little bit more yellow than on those pic's and will turn more brown-yellow as it gets older ... but those are not major changes.. just a little bit....

Just kidding You do some great work man, still lovin' the wafer thin highlights you got rollin'.
Are you turning the highlight pieces on the lathe and thinning them there? Or are you perchance using a featherboard rig on a tablesaw?

thes rings that are thin are just a plain veneer ... wooden sheets that are 1mm thick.. i use them as separators here - to separate layers and to emphasize color of each layer.... and it works great.. but you need to stabilize them using 10mm or 12mm piece of wooden tenon through them... otherwise they will crack...
