I like Scottie's list. I would add these for your sanding/shaping:

and a motor arbor and hook and loop sanding pads like these from Kurt:

.....or, you could just send the money to Bob. He'll make good use of it.

Just to toss my two cents on dust collection...

Look up Bill Pentz. Wood dust is extremely hazardous to your health. I'm in the process of saving up to build one of his cyclones and outfit my shop with a system that meets the performance standards he claims are necessary to collect the size dust that really matters...the microscopic shit that stays airborne for four hours, and once inhaled wreaks havoc on your lungs.

I'm looking at about a thousand bucks to build the thing, but considering the fact I want to make sawdust for the rest of my life and eventually as my sole source of income, that's a small investment. Pentz's experience was that he had a shop outfitted with all of the top of the line stuff and he still suffered respiratory failure and now carries an oxygen tank. The air quality in his shop was actually worse with the collection system running because it basically spewed the small stuff back into the air rather than collecting and containing it.

The stuff gets in your hair and on your clothes and everywhere in your shop, and like I said stays airborne for four hours or so. When you open your shop door the gust poofs it up and you start breathing it while walking around even without equipment running. Or when you finish sanding or cutting or whatever you're doing and remove your mask the stuff is still in the air. Then when you go back into your living space with your family you disperse it off your clothes, etc and then your family breathes it. That freaks me out.

The best way to minimize risk it catch it at the source and prevent it from getting airborne. Based on what Pentz has researched you will not achieve that with what is available on the market right now, for a variety of reasons. However you can achieve it with his design. Plans are free, and there is a bunch of help out there on woodworking forums from guys who've built their own.

Maybe not something you can swing right now, but it's my opinion every guy making sawdust should seriously consider working towards it. I've been making pipes since 2008, and doing other woodworking long before that, and I've not had good dust collection. That's changing early next year which is my target time for starting the build.

Cheers!
