No wonder! It is a bit for drilling holes in tiles (which is debatable)! :D

FWIW, my local HD did not have this bit in the drill bit section; it was over in the tile tools.
I bought it today, and it took a little orange army to localize the drill bit.
We finally found it in isle 14, by the screws and nails ;)

These are also available at Mcmaster-Carr from 1/8" to 1".

Anyone has an idea for tapered drills?
