Applewood

I just recently cut a dead limb from an apple tree and plan on using it for my first pipe...anybody ever used applewood here? is so tell me a little about your experience with it.

from the looks I'd say the grain structure looks a lot like cherry.

I have made two applepipes. I have nothing to complain with. I almost like that they are my best pipes.

Ive made several out of applewood. They have a tendency to burn out as well. However. A neat thing that i've gotten into is lining the bowl with wall grout. It doesnt shrink when it dries or interact with heat. Its worked for me
