I know I have to sand the bowl, but I wanted to share

I really like this, but I would've left the top black as well, and I would have made a walking stick that it fit into. That way I would hike and stop to smoke when I left the Shire.

If you would have left the top all rough it would have looked like a big black root. That would have classified it in the BA grade. (Bad Ass).

Your stem looks a bit scratched. Need to get all those out before buffing.

Thanks. Looking at it again, you are right, black wood be better for the top.
