Awsome. Chris, where did you find your hook and loop pad, and what grits do you use?

Love it. How about some discussion? I would also like to know what grit you use, and what sort of pad. I like the dust control system. Might steal that idea. Is that a drill press on it's side, angled, that you are using? What rpms?

Jeez, enough questions?!?! 
Yes it is a drill press mounted on its side and a the handle removed etc. Bascially I had the drill press and wasn't using it so it got chopped up a bit. It is mounted on an angle to make it more comfortable for my back and shoulders and so I can look down in the disc easier.
The pad is a replacement pad for a random orbital sander and I made my own arbours to mount them on.
In this video i start at 40grit, then a worn 80 then a 180 abralon.
Rpm's are about 3000 or thereabouts.
Dust control is a large Dust Extractor connected to 100mm pipes that are run to the important machines, I have attached it to a remote socket so I can run it at the other end of the workshop without getting up. the bit that catches the dust here is simply a large cardboard tube that I cut a notch out of. I have various different sizes of these and other types that i use depending on the pipe, this one gets in the way of long shanks so I have a different one I use that isn't so efficient but allows more room. The one in this video catches the most dust and gets used on most pipes.

It's one of many, a couple I bought and modified to fit but most are homemade. I think I have about 8 different discs, some are for special tasks and only get used once or twice a year sometimes.

Really just one. Are you applying a compound to the final disc (the Abralon disc)?

It looks to me like a cleaning stick commonly used on belt sanders. But I could be wrong.
