just paid for her and gonna pick her up within the next few days
South Bend 10K, just redone, new bearings, no wear, some tooling
lathe weighs about 500-700 pounds and is on a 300 pound base, hopefully that'll hold her down, may have to build a bigger base?
turret will be very handy for pipe kits (drilling about 150-200 a month)

been using an old shopsmith from the 50's as a horizontal drill press basically, with a 3 axis vise bolted to the table. It's a powerhouse and has drilled thousands of pipe kits and maybe a couple hundred finished pipes. Can't wait to get everything ready for the new lathe. It will take a little while getting the right tooling I want, and then a hundred or so hours searching this forum and the internet to find the info I need to tame this beast.

Using a metal lathe is mostly intuitive once you've played with it a bit. Theres a lot to learn, but most of it only makes sense after using the machine. My brain starts to melt after too much technical jargon.

That IS nice, looks too good to use and get dirty. If I had it I would put it in my living room and just look at it.
