I think it was in this forum where I saw a post with pictures of wooden jaws to convert their chuck from a 4 jaw chuck to a 2 jaw chuck. I can't seem to find the original post now. I just wanted to say Thank You to that person. It wouldn't have occurred to me to make my own jaws without seeing those. I made a set out of some scrap oak to fit my chuck and tried them out this morning. They work great and other than some screws to mount them to the chuck, they were free. Now that I've made a set and have seen how easy it is and how well they work, it will be just as easy to make other jaws as I need them. Not only have they expanded my lathe's work holding capabilities, they saved me a significant amount of money.
