It's Alive!

Post by Sawdust »

Just finished setting up my pipe making space. There is just enough room for my lathe, band saw, drill press and a work bench, everything I need! While I was at it I went through the lathe with new bearings, seals and belts and a thorough tune up. The band saw got a tune up as well with new tires and thrust bearings. It's kind of humble compared to a lot of your setups but I am just thrilled to be able to get "back at it".

The product you turn out is all that matters... at least, that's what I keep telling myself. :)

Yeah... my shop has been called many things, slum, shack, and Yeti hole, but never "workshop"...

Go figure.

That's pretty cool. Are those 2x6's serving as the ways for your lathe? What kind of wood?

I made the bed out of 8/4 beech so it is pretty tough. When I did the final machining, I connected the two planks with spacer blocks and milled them as a unit so it's accurate as well.
