I hope everything will be here by the end of the year (fingers crossed).
The original post has beed edited to reflect the new sizes and prices.
The last batch sold out in 6 hours, so if you would like anything reserved, let me know now.

For those of you who did get in on the last batch, please leave your comments here as to how you liked it or how it compared to other sources.

I have not made anything with mine yet, but compared to what I've used int eh past, this stuff is right up there in quality. It's heavy, rings just like it should, and is really darkly colored. I just have to figure out what, exactly, I want to do with it.

I haven't ordered any morta but I've seen the blocks from Steve in person and they are the finest quality I've ever seen. Very solid.

Just as a bit of info that will hopefully help some out there. If possible you really want the Morta cut 90deg to the way these blocks seem to be. I.e the growth rings should stack perpendicular to the shank rather than parallel with it as can be seen in Rad's pipe.

I'm not saying it has to be done this way, as can clearly be seen a top quality pipe can be made and in practical terms the shank will actually be much stronger with this grain arrangement. However in my experience wood cut this way is much more prone to movement, cracking and problems in general.

All said with the usual caveats, YMMV etc etc. Just putting it out there as it might save somebody some of the heartache and hassle I have dealt with over the years.

Just wanted to say I got my blocks from Steve, and they are amazingly consistent. I've never seen morta this solid. Put me down tentatively for 10 blocks of the smaller of the 50mm blocks.
