Okay, I'm a liar.....I never even saw the damned cat and I was there for 4 hours. I'm not even sure if he has a cat.....
Oh, she's real, alright...

And your flippant dismissiveness has upset her. (she can read)

She wanted to send you a picture as proof. (she can type, too, but requires all menial tasks to be performed by her human)

Hey, so I made a mistake. First one since 1989 so that's a pretty good track record, no?

I note a rather amazing similarity between Daisy's pic and Sas's.

I've learned the hard way that Her Kittyness does not like being teased.

You should be afraid. Very afraid.

She mostly comes at night. Mostly.

That Michael Parks is phenomenal! :notworthy:

And as for that LB, I still wouldn't be satisfied entering it in the contest. Too many details are askew.

It's almost that time....hope you boys have been practicing your billiards!!

Here is the link to register for the carving contest and the show. If you are going to get a table, do it quickly...they are going to go fast. You can also purchase raffle tickets. No need to be present to win. I will bring home all your goodies and keep them for myself....er, I mean make sure they get to you in one piece

(if my balance message shows up at the bottom of the page please ignore it...unless you want to help a sister out :D )

If you still haven't booked your room at the Argosy do it now!! They have sold out EVERY Friday and Saturday night since they opened (I'm not joking) and the rooms will be gone quickly. Instructions for booking are on the GKCPC website.

June will be here before we know it. I'm not going to make Chicago this year, so I'm getting all pumped for the KC show.....hope to see you all there. Except for you Tyler....I'm going to hide from you again this year

So are we to post our billiard entries here for review and critique here or do we all keep our submissions secret from one another? Being a newb, I am just asking.

Keep it a secret. Entry instructions (where to send it to) are on the GKCPC website. DO NOT post pictures of your entry on the forum as the judges do visit and it is judges blind (as blind as they can in any case)

10-4 on everything Scottie said.

The hotel/casino where this year's event is being held has NEVER failed to sell out a Friday or Saturday night since it opened. Also, there are plenty of hotels in a town the size of Kansas City, but none of them are nearby. It isn't like the Pheasant Run in Chicago with a Hampton Inn across the street (or whatever it is.)

If you wait to book a room, you will kick yourself later. Guaranteed.

Just sayin'

I just wanted to remind all y'all (I speak Southern upon occasion) that the KC show & contest is FIVE WEEKS away. Not too late to get started carving, or make plans to attend if you were on the fence.

The rooms are going fast and will soon be gone. Call NOW.

Quinton says he's received 17 entries so far, which is a record for five weeks out. If the trend holds there will likely be over fifty entries total. Besides the biggest contest to date, it looks as though the quality will be a new high water mark as well. Winning a spot in this year's set will be a big deal in the Pipeworld, I think.

Also, please SUPPORT your fellow carvers by buying a raffle ticket or three (or four!). The KC club makes nothing on the contest---100% of the ticket revenue (minus the cost of the custom case) is split by the seven winners. Translation: if all the tickets are sold, each winning maker's share will be over a thousand bucks. (The exact amount would depend on how many tickets were sold via the "buy four get the fifth one free" route.)
