High spot marking, a la Prussian Blue for machine parts

Post by LatakiaLover »

What do you guys use?

I've messed with several types over the years---mostly for finding the stem shoulder's contact spots on a shank face---and have gotten by, but am always looking for the Perfect Stuff.

Me too. But... hold on a sec... you know I'm a pipe fixer, and not a pipe maker, right? As in, sometimes I get sent Huber's, Askwith's, or Tyler's stuff.

I still don't understand.

And if someone is sending you something I made to get tweaked, they're doing it wrong. I'm not dead. I'll take care of them.

Perhaps they want it fixed by someone who knows what they're doing, Tyler.

Restoration guys in another field use artist's chalk (very fine grain size & high lanolin content for good surface adhesion).

But, of course, they aren't pipe makers !

No worries, Tyler. It doesn't happen all that often. I've only been sent a couple hundred of yours. And only for small, picky stuff... like forgetting to drill the airway, the bowl falling off, the finish getting all gummy-melty, that sort of thing. Don't sweat it.
