This is my first post on this forum and what better way to break the ice than to share my first pipe.
I purchased a pre-drilled block of briar (with stem) at my local smoke shop and shaped it all with some cheap rasps, files, and sandpaper from Home Depot.
Now I just need to learn how to dye and buff. Thanks for all the insights and tips, gents!

Re: My First Pipe
I actually spoke to Andrew on the phone a couple weeks ago. He is going to point me in the right direction on some things. Can't wait.
Re: My First Pipe
I don't carve my pipes with a chainsaw. Thought that might get confusing

Haha! I love Mad Max.
Heading to St Louis soon for 2 weeks for some work related things. But we should definitely connect sometime. I want to show you my finished product on this pipe. Today I bought some dyes (Fiebings Black and Oxblood) and hope to set up my brother's buffer to give it a wax. I'll keep you posted.
