I found a YouTube video called, "Video Tutorial --- How to use the Google+ video chatroom feature even if you are a complete and utter idiot who is too stupid to breathe," and gave up a third of the way into it. No thanks. Nested panel this, hidden button that, click on the background anywhere to activate a step (?!) here, go to the administrator control panel user interface default connection protocol override screen there... yadda, yadda...

I've decided that aliens took over the IT world about 20 years ago. Lateral, non-intuitive, assumption-dependent, inefficient, you name it. If it weren't for the effectively free CPU and storage these days, that shit would NEVER work.

Oh well.

Besides, it looked like the "video" was just a choppy, avatar-like photo that only got updated every second or two, making it no better than a phone call bandwidth-wise, and infinitely more irritating than no "video" at all.
