So a family friend recently gave me an old Total Shop, and I'm trying to figure out how to turn it into a working lathe without spending too much. Since I'm going to want to invest in a full lathe at some point, I don't want to dump too much money into this thing; on the other hand, I'd like to get some good use out of it since I probably won't have the money for a good lathe for a couple years.
Are any of you guys familiar with Total Shop? I've heard that most Shopsmith parts will work on a Total Shop, so I'm looking at the Nova G3 they sell. Any advice on this one?
Anyone familiar with Total Shop?
