half bent brandy glass

this is my fourth pipe and my first attempt at the shape. I feel i didnt make the bottom third as thick as it should have been to really fit more int a brandyglass shape. im also still having some problems on my finish. i take lots of time to sand the pipe smooth but when i buff the pipe it seems to get spots seem to make the grain pull out and make the finish duller, can kind of see this in the photos. any advice and critique is openly welcome (sorry for the pictures i could only snap a few with my cellphone rather than using a nicer camera)
