It is possible that Kirk here likes the way a poorly made pipe looks- it seems a lot of people do from what I see online. In that case it's perfectly fine for him to make a blowish right away, it will be ugly and he will like it, so everyone's gonna be happy.

It takes some aesthetic refinement to see the difference between a melted lollypop blowfish and a shaping masterpiece blowfish, some people just don't see it.
