For your health

For those of you that think I'm full of shit, today I'm not.
Today I had a colonoscopy and am all cleaned out!
On a serious note, this is something all should have when they're 35. It's so important.
My physician will not take new patients over 50 that have not had this procedure.
It's painless. Only the prep is tedious.
Do yourself a favor and give it serious thought.
Not full of shit, just hot air (smells like lemon-lime Gatorade)!

He is right it is painless , but he also forgot to add that the anesthetics they give you are quite enjoyable I'd get at least one a month just for the anesthetics.. but my insurance co. frowned on that idea

Painless? painless?!?

I had a partial one 2 years ago (I'm 26 now), WITHOUT anesthetics. Friggin' hurts like hell!

Full colonoscopy is planned for september and is normally done under full narcosis, but my doctor only does them under sedation. I expect it to hurt. alot.
Not mentioning the 24h fast and drinking of excessive amounts of water with laxatives you have to do beforehand.

I'll have health insurance for the first time since I was 21 very soon (thank you Marriage!) and will likely get this done. Glad to hear that those who've had the procedure in the US got drugged up!

Nah I'll pass that's a slippery slope. They lure you in by saying it's recommended, saves lives, all that, then next thing you know you're in some grimy back alley downtown with a sack full of disposable cameras tryin to get you're next fix.

Sorry but NOTHING is worse than a kick in the balls, after all you never hear men going "say honey, it's been a couple of years now since we had our last one and I really think I'd like another kick in the balls"

Ah yes, the proverbial kick in the balls. At least the pain passes in minutes. Child birth, on the other hand goes on for hours.....and no, I didn't take the drugs. The good thing about it is a woman's mind makes her forget the worst of it. If not we would NEVER have more than one baby :)

What I want to know is how the hell women can forget childbirth, but never anything that they can use against the men later?
Huh?

I don't know, Charl has asked the question of a lifetime!

But I had a colonoscopy about a year ago. It was supposed to be "midnight" sedation, you know, you're kind of in a floaty place but still awake, aware?

Right, I was out like a light, woke up, no issues, good report, "Come back in ten years."

Now, if only my ticker was as ...

Minutes?!? Yeah right, if I think about my last kick in the balls I can still feel the pain now, and it's been years!

The harsh treatment of the genitalia in which you are both describing, makes my skin crawl, and well it makes me sad

My doc says first one at 45. That's 679 days, 5 hours, 18 minutes, and 15 seconds but who's counting.

Sorry Scottie, I've delivered many babies and pain is very subjective. It comes at many levels. Some women don't even grimace, while others totally lose control. Having a baby can be right up there for some, as nerve pain in a tooth or leg can be observed to induce same, control to none. For me gunshot wounds as well as deep knife wounds hurt till I got medicated. Getting kicked in the sack by someone today is a signed death warrant for them. Bruce is doing the men a favor, my uncle died of colon cancer, it wasn't pretty. You guys need to be checked. The procedure is painless. You pass a lot of gas. On Premals'farts, I have Nate's word on that. Good enough for me. Scottie the pictures I have seen of your children appears you, as in pipe making did all correctly, they're beautiful! Thankfully, we forget most of the things that hurt or were unpleasant in most situations. Thanks Bruce I'm going to make an appointment. I'm glad you're O.K. I knew you weren't full of shit.

Yup it's not something to ignore. My old bosses wife had never had one. When she finally did she went directly to surgery to remove the cancer found.

I do hate the prep. No eating and the constant trips to the commode. The actual exam is a no brainer. Get ur dun!

So the first one should be at either 35 or 45? Sweet! I got 14-24 years to go!
