Re: Twist drill bowl bits
Drill bits have arrived. First impression is that the quality is very high with large, thick carbide blades that should last a long time even with sharpening. Looking at the construction method I would guess they were made by a company making router bits, they have a milled and ground tool steel co...

Re: PITH 2019!!!
Guys, I hate to do this, but I've got to pull out. My "play" time in the shop is down to nothing and there's no way I will be able to make a pipe to even Turd standard before the deadline.
I haven't even ordered rod for the stem.
It's a mess.

Re: Replacing lost vulcanite stem material (video set)
... That makes me nervous. It's one thing to patch a hole in a cheap pipe so it can continue to function. It is completely another to conceal an issue with, let's say for the sake of argument, a Bo Nordh, and then try and sell the pipe as original and pristine... Repairs should be disclosed when se...

Bend your stem. You don't want to have a hot bowl of tobacco that close to your eye when you clench

Sweetgrass baskets are taking up more of my time since the lathe is dead. I'm in year 2 of a 3 year apprenticeship with a master Abenaki basketmaker who's a cousin. Keeping the family tradition going and all that jazz. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-EBor9D4TxMM/U10m6tvzWGI/AAAAAAAAB-s/pyLHcG5jfp...

I appreciate the culture here. Bring your best, and the members tell you how you might improve. It's the next step for new makers that have gone as far as their own eyes and perspective can take them. My pipes so far aren't worth putting up here for critique. I need to up my game and solve the glari...
